– Our 5th annual developer conference –
Welcome to Luminis DevCon
our 5th annual IT conference.
On April 11th, 2019 we will once again celebrate the Art of Software Engineering. This special edition will take place at the Pathé Leidsche Rijn Venue in Utrecht. DevCon is a one-day conference of knowledge sharing with like-minded IT specialists. You and your colleagues can enjoy trends and the latest and greatest in software development technologies. Meet people, ask questions, exchange experiences and explore the future software engineering together!
The best learning experience.
The speed of innovation and technical development in our profession is unprecedented. It is an ongoing challenge to stay up-to-date. At Luminis DevCon we create a learning environment where we will share experiences, stories and tools. Multiple technical sessions will be presented by renowned (inter)national speakers who will share their experience and knowledge through a series of parallel sessions and keynotes.
You can build your own conference learning experience. In between the sessions we offer 15 minutes breaks so there is no need to rush from one session to the next. During the day there is ample time to chat amongst speakers or fellow attendees. We serve coffee, tea, and water throughout the day and we pride ourselves with an excellent lunch buffet. All the cinema rooms offer spacious and comfortable seats and a big screen to follow each session. Enjoy this learning experience at Luminis DevCon!
Peter is a software architect with a passion for software development, fascinated by the fact that creating good software is a lot more difficult than most people think. He likes to share his knowledge and experience, whether it’s during design discussions at a whiteboard, or during talks and presentations. His personal motto is: “if you don’t know how it works, it probably doesn’t”. His personal interests include topics like modern programming languages and network protocols. Peter is author of the popular JMeter websocket plugin.
Evertson has been working as a software engineer at Luminis for over 3 years. He is interested in connecting the real world to the digital world by using technology. This is commonly referred to as the Internet of Things (IoT), which was the topic of his master thesis and which he works on every day at Luminis through the BDR project (Smart thermostat). He has worked the last three years on this project in the capacity of front-end and back-end engineer. He has also been responsible for leading the load testing initiatives for this project, which is the topic he will be covering at this conference.
Willem has been fascinated with computers as long as he can remember. He started coding when he was eight years old and began his professional career as a Full Stack developer around 2000. After 20 years he has built up a tremendous amount of experience in building enterprise systems for larger and smaller companies.
Currently, he is working as an architect on a big-data cloud project, but he also likes to share his knowledge for example by giving workshops or as a speaker at conferences.Willem’s favorite quote is: “Keep things as simple as possible, but no simpler”. As a pragmatist, he is always seeking the balance between quality, functionality and not to forget: fun!
