Flutter: the future of ambient computing!

Over the last year, I have switched from developing native Android apps with Java/Kotlin to developing cross-platform native apps with Flutter. And boy am I having a blast!

Flutter is Google’s portable UI toolkit for crafting beautiful, natively compiled applications for mobile, web, and desktop from a single codebase. Flutter uses neither WebView nor the OEM widgets that ship with devices. Instead, Flutter uses its own high-performance rendering engine to draw the UI. This allows Flutter to be run on the web, embedded devices and desktop as well.

Within a year of becoming stable, the industry has welcomed Flutter with open arms. Dart, the programming language behind Flutter, was the fastest growing language on GitHub in 2019. Flutter was a top 3 growing project on GitHub 2019. Flutter is also in the top ten most starred GitHub repositories of all time, surpassing React-Native.

I think it’s time that we all got exposed to this awesome new technology!
