– Our 5th annual developer conference –
Welcome to Luminis DevCon
our 5th annual IT conference.
On April 11th, 2019 we will once again celebrate the Art of Software Engineering. This special edition will take place at the Pathé Leidsche Rijn Venue in Utrecht. DevCon is a one-day conference of knowledge sharing with like-minded IT specialists. You and your colleagues can enjoy trends and the latest and greatest in software development technologies. Meet people, ask questions, exchange experiences and explore the future software engineering together!
The best learning experience.
The speed of innovation and technical development in our profession is unprecedented. It is an ongoing challenge to stay up-to-date. At Luminis DevCon we create a learning environment where we will share experiences, stories and tools. Multiple technical sessions will be presented by renowned (inter)national speakers who will share their experience and knowledge through a series of parallel sessions and keynotes.
You can build your own conference learning experience. In between the sessions we offer 15 minutes breaks so there is no need to rush from one session to the next. During the day there is ample time to chat amongst speakers or fellow attendees. We serve coffee, tea, and water throughout the day and we pride ourselves with an excellent lunch buffet. All the cinema rooms offer spacious and comfortable seats and a big screen to follow each session. Enjoy this learning experience at Luminis DevCon!
Rafaëla is a software engineer at Luminis in Amsterdam and driven to solve problems with creative solutions. She is very involved in the development of backend systems in Java with Spring. This is including the surrounded technologies needed to test and monitor the produced applications. In her spare time, she also likes to keep up-to-date with frontend technologies such as Angular and React.
Jettro is a search relevance engineer who specializes in giving customers the best possible search experience. Jettro has been working with the elastic stack for years, and he knows his way around Solr as well. Next to search, he is experimenting with Machine Learning. Combining Machine Learning with Search to solve one of the hardest search problems, named ranking, is what keeps him going. Jettro believes in the vision of Luminis that: Knowledge is the only thing that increases by sharing. Therefore he writes blogs, gives training and presents at many meetups and conferences.
Hans Bossenbroek is one of the founders and Chief Executive of Luminis. After a long career working for consultancy organisations and doing freelance jobs, Hans concluded that the potential of IT, the inherent complexity of software engineering and the power of innovation can only be unlocked by harnessing the power of the collective. It may seem strange, but this coincides with his love for jazz music, diving and mountaineering. They all build upon the aptitude, discipline and persistence of the individual in a team.
This complex reality is aptly described by Neil Young: “It’s better to burn out than to fade away”.
